Any time anyone in DFW is forced to deal with a nuisance in their city, they are likely to blame all the people moving to the metroplex over the last few years. As DFW continues to grow, more and more people are packing up and heading to the Lone Star state. Now, a new list is showing just how many people are moving to Texas, with two cities landing on the list of 15 hottest markets in the US for homebuyers.
The new rankings, complied by technology and data provider CoreLogic, looked at the number of people relocating to new cities from April to December last year. According to the list, DFW is the tenth hottest housing market for homebuyers in the country. The only other Texas city making the list was San Antonio, landing the number eight spot on the list.
According to Dallas Culture Map, the DFW area saw an 8.7 percent increase in home sales in 2020 compared with 2019, with a 6.7 percent increase in the median home price. Taking the number one spot on the list was Riverside-San Bernardino, California. With all the people moving to Texas from California, DFW will take over that spot soon enough.
