Arlington police have made an arrest in a cold case thanks to a random DNA hit that came back eight years after the murder.

29-year-old Justin Dotson was shot to death at his apartment along Valleywood Drive near Pioneer Parkway in an attempted robbery in October of 2017.

Investigators found DNA that did not match the victim but they couldn't match it to anyone else until recently.

The match came back to Devin Cameron-Mack who was already in the Tarrant County Jail for something else.

They got a warrant for a DNA sample and it matched what was pulled from the crime scene.

He is now facing Capital Murder charges.
