Cook Children's Medical Center is putting out an urgent call for a blood stem cell donor.
Danny Kim, 57, a pediatrician at Cook Children's, has been diagnosed with advanced leukemia and is in urgent need of a blood stem cell transplant.
In a desperate search to find a match, Cook Children's is asking for healthy people to undergo a quick swab test to determine if their blood stem cells are a match for Dr. Kim or any other patient in need.
Cook Children's is partnering with Be The Match in hosting two donor drive events at its medical centers next week:
Fort Worth (1500 W. Rosedale St.), Wednesday, November 15, 12:00-2:00 p.m.
Prosper (4100 W. University Dr.), Thursday, November 16, 2:00-4:00 p.m.
If you can't make either event, you can still become a donor by joining the Be The Match registry.
Complete the digital form here or text Swab4Kim to 61474.
