Uber Eats customers in downtown Dallas have a new delivery option. They can choose to have their orders delivered by a robot.
"A-V Ride" deployed its robots in downtown Dallas on Tuesday and people watched as they made their first trips.
Yulia Shevyko with "A-V Ride" says their robots travel at less than ten miles an hour on the sidewalk and have 360-degree cameras to navigate their surroundings. She says these robots are designed to take care of a hyperlocal delivery.
"A-V Ride" says customers can have one of the robots deliver food through the UberEats app. Texas approved autonomous delivery vehicles with statewide regulations in 2019.
