A fast-moving fire did a lot of damage to a Fort Worth apartment building this morning.
The first 911 calls to Fort Worth Fire & Rescue came in just past 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. Flames and black smoke were jetting from the roof of a three story building at the Hillcrest Apartment Complex near Trinity Boulevard and Hwy 360 a little northwest of Riverside Golf Club.
The first fire crews began pouring on the water but with winds gusting up to 20 - 25 mph, the fire was gaining ground so the call went out for a second and quickly a third alarm.
Reports say at least 16 units have been completely damaged. Other units may have water and smoke damage as well. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Officials say no injuries have been reported. The Red Cross is on the scene to assist those who have been displaced.
