A man is being treated at Parkland Hospital in Dallas after he crashed a vehicle in Carrollton Wednesday night during a high-speed police chase.
Officials say it began after 8:00 p.m. when a DPS trooper was trying to pull over an SUV on the west-bound side of the George Bush Turnpike.
Police reports say the driver refused to stop and hit the gas instead and sped away with the trooper right behind.
There's a sharp curve right at Kelly Boulevard and that's where the SUV crashed and rolled underneath the Kelly overpass. The SUV hit a concrete bridge support and flipped.
Despite the serious damage to the SUV, the driver was reported to be in stable condition after Carrollton paramedics rushed him to Parkland Hospital.
The west-bound side of the Turnpike was closed for several hours for the clean-up and investigation.
Police have not identified the driver of the vehicle and there is no word yet on what charges he will be facing.
