The Texas Department of Public Safety is asking for the public’s help identifying the driver of an 18-wheeler who investigators say fled after causing a fatal crash on the Dallas North Tollway last month.
The collision happened around 6:30 a.m. Oct. 21 in the northbound lanes near Spring Creek Parkway. According to DPS, a white truck towing a white dump trailer made an unsafe lane change and struck a Honda Civic, sending the car into a concrete barrier and causing it to roll over. A Ram 1500 and a Toyota Camry then crashed into the Honda.
The Honda’s driver, Juan Quiroz, 47, of Dallas, was pronounced dead at the scene. The 18-wheeler continued northbound without stopping, DPS said.
Investigators believe the truck may have damage to its right front bumper or front right fender.
North Texas Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the driver.
If you have information, you can submit an anonymous tip to the North Texas Crime Stoppers at 877-373-8477
