The Frisco ISD Board of Trustees has officially and unanimously approved the contract for Dr. Todd Fouche to serve as the District’s next superintendent. Dr. Fouche takes over the role effective immediately, following the retirement of Dr. Mike Waldrip.
The appointment comes after a thorough nationwide search and a mandatory 21-day waiting period after Dr. Fouche was named the lone finalist in March.
A lifelong commitment to Frisco
Dr. Fouche is a familiar face to the Frisco community. He has spent his entire career within the district, most recently serving as Deputy Superintendent for the last decade. His journey through Frisco ISD includes roles as:
- Teacher: 5th grade and 8th grade science
- Campus Leadership: Assistant Principal at Roach Middle School and Principal at Pioneer Heritage Middle School
- Administration: Director of Finance
A graduate of Odessa Permian High School, Dr. Fouche earned his bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University before obtaining his master’s and doctorate from the University of North Texas.
Deep roots in the community
Education is a family affair for the Fouche household. His mother is a retired teacher from Staley Middle School, and his father served as a school board member in Odessa for 12 years. Dr. Fouche and his wife, Melissa, have lived in Frisco since 1999, and their two daughters are proud K-12 products of the district.
Looking ahead
In his first message to families, Dr. Fouche emphasized a student-centered approach.
“Our focus remains exactly where it should be: on our students and staff. We are committed to knowing every student by name and need to ensure they have the best possible future,” said Dr. Fouche.
Board President Dynette Davis noted that Dr. Fouche’s deep understanding of the district’s values made him the clear choice to lead Frisco ISD's 77 campuses and more than 62,000 students into their next chapter.
