Southbound Central Expressway just north of Downtown Dallas was closed for two hours Wednesday after a driver apparently committed suicide in the middle of the highway.
Southbound traffic was backed up as far north as Northwest Highway as drivers were diverted off the road.
Police were called shortly before 10:00am Wednesday to a shooting on the highway but officers soon determined that the person died by an apparent self-inflicted gunshot.
