More than a week after a serious hit-and-run crash, Dallas police now have the man they've been looking for.
Police reports say Gilberto Salas Guerra has been jailed in Dallas County on charges of failure to stop and render aid, causing bodily injury, and causing serious bodily injury.
Dallas police say Guerra was driving a pick-up truck that caused a crash in the intersection of East Kiest and South Marsalis on October 13th.
Police say Guerra bailed out and got away on foot, leaving his damaged Ford F-150 FX behind. The couple in the other vehicle, young parents of an 8-year-old and a 2-year-old, were critically injured.
Guerra is also being held on a federal immigration hold.
While a bond has been established for the other charge, there is no bond allowed on the immigration hold.
