A drunk diver caused a wreck late Saturday night that injured six children and he didn't stick around to help.
Police say 20-year-old Jose Castro drank about four beers on an empty stomach before he got behind the wheel of a car and caused the wreck at the intersection of Ledbetter and Rugged Drive.
Investigators say he ran a red light and slammed into an SUV that had six children inside. A 4-year-old was ejected and is listed in critical condition. Another 5-year-old is listed in serious condition. The other three children were treated and released from the hospital.
Dallas PD says Castro didn't stick around following the crash and took off running. He was found by a police dog hiding in some bushes on the front lawn of a home nearby. Castro is facing several charges of intoxication assault with a vehicle and is also being held on an immigration hold. His bond is more than $120,000.
