About 200 East Dallas residents were allowed back into their homes last night after workers patched up a natural gas leak that was reported Wednesday afternoon.
The first calls about a gas odor came in about 1 p.m. from the neighborhood around Willow Street and Exposition Avenue about mid-way between Deep Ellum and Fair Park.
A Dallas Fire-Rescue HazMat team came in to manage the situation. The leak was caused by a construction crew digging in the intersection. Atmos brought in a crew to fix the leak.
The all-clear was given several hours later.
