Families across North Texas will once again gather at Turtle Creek Park this Sunday for the return of Easter in Turtle Creek Park, the city’s beloved free Easter celebration that was canceled last year because of inclement weather.
The Turtle Creek Conservancy is hosting the event for the City of Dallas on Easter Sunday, April 5, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the historic park along Turtle Creek Boulevard. Organizers expect thousands of residents to attend the more-than-50-year-old tradition, which features an Easter egg hunt with 15,000 eggs, free photos with the Easter Bunny, live music, food trucks and family activities.
The day’s schedule includes children’s egg hunt registration at 1 p.m., followed by the hunt at 1:30 p.m. for kids age 10 and younger. The popular Pooch Parade steps off at 2 p.m., with dogs and owners in Easter-inspired costumes competing in categories such as most creative and best group. A $25 registration fee is required to participate in the parade, with on-site registration available from 1 to 1:50 p.m. near Lemmon Avenue. At 3 p.m. the Dallas Symphony Orchestra Brass Quintet will perform.
Admission to the park event is free. Attendees can also donate to support the egg hunt or the new Easter Egg Recognition Wall and sign up to volunteer or sponsor the day’s activities.
The 2025 event was called off for safety reasons amid forecasted thunderstorms, disappointing many families who had looked forward to the spring tradition. This year’s gathering marks a welcome return, giving the community another chance to celebrate together in one of Dallas’ most scenic green spaces.
No injuries or incidents have been reported in connection with planning for the 2026 event, and organizers say they are monitoring weather closely.
