An elderly Fort Worth man has been critically hurt in a late night fire.
Just before midnight, flames erupted inside a home on Northwest 24th Street near Jacksboro Highway and Long Avenue. Fire crews pulled up to find the fire going strong and the flames were through the roof of the one-story structure.
The man who lives there was pulled from the burning home and rushed to the hospital with smoke inhalation and other injuries. Firefighters tried unsuccessfully to save his dog, too.
As soon as the fire was out investigators began assessing possible causes but nothing has been determined, so far.
