One of the electricity providers that lost money during the Texas big freeze in February has now fired every employee.
Bloomberg cites an e-mail in which Liberty Power President Derik Viner said the company could not even give any notice to the workforce because of "events which are outside our control that impacted our ability to predict future revenues to support continued operations."
The Florida-based company had about 100 employees and operates in 11 states and Washington D.C. Between 20% and 25% of its roughly 100,000 customers are from Texas, according to reports.
Liberty Power is just the latest company to take a big hit from the cold snap.
Griddy Energy LLC is now out of business as are providers Just Energy and Brazos Electric Power.
