We've had a couple of hot summers in a row, and ERCOT says it's getting ready for another.

ERCOT overall growth in demand has matched the state's population growth, but chief executive Pablo Vegas says summer has grown faster.

He says texas has added almost 11 gigawatts of new generation and battery storage since last fall, but August has the highest risk of tight conditions in the evening.

Vegas adds the risk of outages this summer is about the same or "slightly improved" compared to last year.
