
Dallas Mayor Eric Johnson is spending part of this week in Dubai, attending the International Air Transport Association World Cargo Symposium.
The trip is sponsored by DFW International Airport, where Johnson serves as a board member. According to the mayor, the visit is aimed at strengthening international relationships that help drive economic growth in Dallas.
Dubai also plays a strategic role in Dallas' trade network, particularly with India. In 2024, Dallas air exports to India totaled more than $821 million, with Dubai serving as a key gateway.
