Extra security, more police officers and additional metal detectors will all be in place at Garland High School Wednesday.
The extra security medsures are because of an unspecified threat received by administrators late Tuesday night.
Just before 10 p.m. Principal Holly Hines put out a letter addressed to Garland High School Families saying, "this evening we received information about a possible threat which was immediately shared with GISD Security and the Garland Police Department."
Hines says Garland police are actively investigating the situation.
This week, Garland High School is administering end-of-course tests including STAAR, Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate exams.
