New information from the FAA released this morning suggests the pilot whose plane crashed in Plano last night was attempting what the aviation industry calls a "go around."
In flight terms, a 'go around ' means the pilot had aborted a landing and was flying in a pattern allowing him to again line up a final approach for another attempt.
The FAA confirms that the pilot was the only one aboard and the only one killed in the fiery crash in a parking lot near Park Boulevard and Midway, about a mile from Air Park-Dallas Airport.
It's not confirmed where the plane took off from but an online air traffic tracker shows the plane had a scheduled take-off from Addison Airport just a few minutes before the crash.
