DALLAS (1080 KRLD)- Dallas is looking for a Poet Laureate.
That's right, someone who can identify good poetry and share it with the community.
The city's office of Art and Culture, the Dallas Library and Vellum Books came up with the idea. The group says Dallas has always been a literacy city and a poet laureate is needed to help nurture a new generation of poets.

Applications for the job are being taken thru the end of the year. It's a 2 year term and includes a $20,000 dollar stipend.
Vellum Books will publish the poet laureate's works. The city of Dallas will announce its first poet laureate in April 2022.
