
At least one person is dead after a crash involving a tractor-trailer on Interstate 45 in southern Dallas on Thursday morning, according to Dallas Fire-Rescue. The crash caused the closure of the interstate's northbound lanes.
The crash occurred around 4:45 a.m. near Simpson Stuart Road and involved a jackknifed tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle.
One person died at the scene, according to reports.
The collision led to the closure of all northbound lanes of Interstate 45 heading toward downtown Dallas, with traffic backed up past Interstate 20.
Emergency crews worked to clear the wreckage and reopen the highway, but it remained closed as of 8:30 a.m.
