
RICHARDSON (1080 KRLD)- Three people are dead and at least four others are in the hospital after a multi-vehicle crash on U.S. 75 in Richardson early Friday morning.
Richardson police say they responded to the crash around 11:55 p.m. Thursday at the 3400 block of Central Expressway near the President George Bush Turnpike. The call was initially about a stalled Cadillac SUV.
When they arrived, police learned a second vehicle, a Lexus SUV crashed into the stalled Cadillac whose driver and six passengers were outside the vehicle at the time. One of the passengers of the Cadillac, identified as 19-year-old Alyia Khalid died on the scene while the driver and 4 other passengers had to be transported to local hospitals for injuries.
Inside the Lexus SUV, driver identified as 27-year-old Haley Taylor and her 6-year-old daughter were hurt when colliding with the Cadillac and were transported to local hospitals where they were pronounced dead.
A third vehicle, a Dodge Sedan crashed into the Lexus. Its driver and passenger were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. At least four other vehicles including a Nissan and an 18-wheeler were involved in the chain crash but no other injuries were reported. Plano police who was also on the scene reported attempting CPR on the victims.
Richardson police is the leading investigating agency while Plano police also assists. U.S. 75 reopened just before 9 a.m.
