The FBI has sent a dive team to San Antonio to join the search for a girl who disappeared December 20th. Lina Sardar Khil was last seen at a playground at the apartment complex where her family lives.

San Antonio Police say Khil's mother was watching her, but she left for a short time. When she came back, they say Khil was gone. An Amber Alert was issued December 21.

Police officers, volunteers and the FBI have been following leads and going door-to-door at the apartment complex to try to figure out what happened. Now, 12 members of the FBI Underwater Search and Evidence Response Team have flown in from Washington D.C.

"All we're doing here is following up on leads," says San Antonio Police Chief Bill McManus. "We don't want to leave anything to chance, so everything we get that has any kind of potential at all, we're going to follow it up."

McManus says he cannot not provide details about the lead, but the team was searching a creek about two miles from the apartment complex. The dive team started work upon arrival Tuesday and planned to return to the creek Wednesday morning.

"I wish there was more uplifting information I could give you to at least provide some hope, but I don't have any of that information right now," McManus says.

Lina Sardar Khil is three years old. She is four feet tall and weighs 55 pounds. She has brown hair and brown eyes. Khil was last seen wearing a black jacket, red dress and black shoes. More information is available here.
