A federal judge has struck down a Texas law that regulates who can carry handguns.

People age 21 or older in Texas don't need a license or any training to carry a handgun, but the state does ban the carrying of handguns by people between the ages of 18 and 20.

A group called the Firearms Policy Coalition filed a lawsuit last year on behalf of two plaintiffs to overturn that law saying it was unconstitutional.

A federal district judge ruled the law violates the Second Amendment to the U.S. Constitution and told the state not to enforce it. But he also agreed that his order should be put on-hold for at least 30 days, or the duration of any appeal.
