Some North Texas parents say school districts aren't doing enough to protect students from COVID-19, that they want mask mandates enforced in schools, and now they're taking the matter to court.
The lawsuit names three North Texas school districts as defendants: Frisco ISD, Grapevine-Colleyville ISD, and Hurst-Euless-Bedford ISD.

It alleges that not requiring masks to be worn in schools violates the children’s rights under the equal protection clause of the 14th Amendment.
According to the Dallas Morning News, the group of parents is seeking a temporary restraining order and a permanent injunction.
The lawsuit includes a list of possible COVID side effects kids could face and talks about how younger kids run a higher risk of getting the virus than their older peers.
This isn’t the first time this argument has come up. Another lawsuit, filled by the group Disability Rights Texas argues a similar point, saying efforts to stop schools from enforcing masks violates federal anti-discrimination laws.
