Federal prosecutors in Sherman are starting to land plea agreements in a massive, transnational cell phone trafficking conspiracy.

With more than 100 people indicted in the electronics criminal ring, the case has many moving parts.

Officials say the cell phone ring was uncovered last summer. It involved robberies, fraud, money laundering and virtually every sort of electronic device you could hold in your hand including cell phones, laptops, smart watches, and tablets.

Stores that were hit were all over North Texas. The hundreds of electronic devices were shipped by runners to contacts overseas to foreign import companies located in the United Arab Emirates and Hong Kong.

Now plea agreements are being cut and sentences are starting to be meted out. One man got five years in prison, at least six others have entered into plea agreements and are awaiting sentencing.

Federal prosecutors hope their cooperation will lead to other arrests.
