The fight over the Dallas County mask mandate is back in court this morning.
It's the politics over who has authority over your face in public.
Texas Governor Greg Abbott has declared that masks cannot be required in public buildings in Texas, and that includes schools.
Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins says he has that authority and earlier this month won a restraining order that seemed to stop Abbott from enforcing his order.
That was appealed directly to the Texas Supreme Court which didn't take the issue head-on. Rather the Court said the matter needed to be finished at the State District Court level. It did lift the restraining order for now.
That all could change later this morning when Dallas County District Court judge Tonya Parker hears more arguments and issues a ruling in a case that is certain to be appealed no matter which way it goes.
