Fort Worth fire crews are fighting a two-alarm fire at an abandoned chemical plant on the north side near I-35 and Long Avenue.
Firefighters were called a little before 9 a.m. and found the fire in progress at the old Southwestern Petroleum Corporation plant at the corner of Long and Deen.
A second alarm was immediately called and firefighters have been working to douse the flames. Once the fire is out, the search for the cause will begin. Since the plant is abandoned, commanders don't believe anyone was hurt but they will have to make a thorough sweep of the building to know for sure.
