
Following a meeting with the mayor, Dallas' police chief issues a new policy concerning off-duty security jobs for the city's officers.
On Saturday, 7 off-duty officers worked a concert in southeast Dallas that turned deadly after someone opened fire, killing one and injuring 16 others.
The event did not have the proper permits from the city.
Following a discussion with the mayor, police chief Eddie Garcia issued an order, forbidding officers from working events that require a permit, but yet don't have one.
The officers left an hour before the shooting occurred.
Mayor Eric Johnson tweeted out his approval of the new order:
