The North Texas Food Bank is concerned about an increase in demand with SNAP benefits being halted during the government shutdown.
Clarissa Clarke with the North Texas Food Bank says there are hundreds of thousands of people who could be affected in the region.
"There are approximately 460,000 people that are currently on SNAP benefits in our 12 counties," Clarke said. "Those people, if the benefits are delayed, will not be getting that funding."
The North Texas Food Bank provides local food pantry information on their website for people to look up.
"They can go to our website, ntfb.org, and it says 'Find a food pantry,'" Clarke said.
Clarke says shelf-sustainable food donations are welcome at the North Texas Food Bank or any local food pantry.
Financial donations are always welcome as well from those who can.
