Austin (1080 KRLD) - Austin Police have released body camera footage showing two officers pulling a man from a truck engulfed in flames.
Video shows Officer Eduardo Pineda smashing a window to open the truck's door and Pineda and Officer Chandler Carrera dragging the man away from the vehicle before an explosion can be heard.
The officers were awarded the chief's coin of recognition for their quick actions earlier this week.
The fire started after the man experienced a medical emergency while parking his truck. His foot became stuck on the gas pedal, causing the tires to spin, sparking the fire. He was taken to hospital with smoke inhalation injuries. Police have not released his identity.
