A once popular Dallas social media influencer has reached a settlement with prosecutors after being accused of scamming thousands of people.

The state of Texas had been seeking up to a million dollars in damages from Brittany Dawn Davis, claiming the so-called influencer ripped off thousands of people by not delivering on fitness and nutrition plans they paid for.

Prosecutors claim that Davis' online fitness brand, Brittany Dawn Fitness, engaged in deceptive practices that negatively impacted customers with eating disorders.

Davis had nearly two million followers back in 2019 and sold many of them customized plans that she never delivered.

Davis apologized via social media posts and claimed she was just in over her head. But Texas filed a deceptive trade practices lawsuit against her.

Both sides met with a mediator last month and a settlement has been reached. Details of that settlement have not been released and Davis is no longer in the fitness business.
