A former middle school teacher from Grand Prairie gets 15 years behind bars for his not-so-secret relationship with a student.
It was never in dispute that 34-year-old Matthew Ramos of Midlothian was involved with a 16-year-old high school student. He was a middle school teacher in the Grand Prairie ISD when he began the relationship.
Police reports say at first there was texting, then an exchange of photos, then making out in a classroom. Then there was the chatter from students about the two.
Police confronted Ramos and he admitted to falling in love with the girl, even getting a new tattoo sleeve to symbolize the relationship.
Ramos pleaded guilty and let Ellis County judge Cindy Ermatinger decide punishment, and she settled on 15-years in prison.
