Fort Worth (1080 KRLD) - The City of Fort Worth says its animal shelters are seriously overcapacity, and officials are pleading with people to adopt and foster pets.
Due to the situation, all adoption fees are being waved for the foreseeable future. Fort Worth does not euthanize pets because of overcrowding, so the city will have to find a way to house all of the extra animals.
Officials say it isn't uncommon to see overcrowding at animal shelters during the summer, but they say the current situation is dire.
