An iconic Fort Worth workwear store announced Thursday it's moving its headquarters to California.
Dickies was sold in 2017 for $820 million to VF Corporation, a branded apparel company. They have announced Thursday they are moving Dickies to Costa Mesa, California. Dickies will share space with other brands like the North Face, Timberland, Wrangler, and Lee in the new space.
Dickies said about 120 employees who work at the headquarters in Fort Worth will lose their jobs as a result of the move. Dickies has been there for 102 years.
Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker said they understand companies are sometimes forced to make difficult budget decisions, but he believes VFC will find Fort Worth, Texas is ultimately a more competitive place to do business.
The company said the move will be completed by May 2025.
