Fort Worth firefighters are battling a 3-alarm fire at a two-story apartment building on the west side of the city Tuesday morning, with multiple families displaced and one firefighter injured.
According to a media advisory from the Fort Worth Fire Department posted around 7:30 a.m., crews were working the fire at the apartment complex and the situation remained developing. The American Red Cross of North Texas was en route to provide emergency assistance to displaced residents. One firefighter was injured, officials said.
FOX 4 reported the fire is in the 6700 block of Calmont Avenue near Interstate 30 and Green Oaks Boulevard. Images from the scene and traffic cameras showed the building fully engulfed in flames, with thick black smoke visible along I-30 and causing traffic backups near Green Oaks Road.

The Fort Worth Fire Department designated the intersection of Olive and Calmont as the media staging area. A public information officer was en route to provide updates to reporters.
No civilian injuries had been reported in initial statements. Details on the number of units affected, the cause of the fire, and the extent of damage were not immediately available as crews continued operations.
The Red Cross was assisting families who lost access to their homes. Additional information was expected as the response continued.
