The Tarrant County Fire Marshall has now ruled a Benbrook house fire an accident.
The probe began Thursday morning as soon as the fire was out at the home on Briar Run a couple of miles north of Benbrook Lake.
Just one person was home and he got out before fire crews arrived. When they pulled up the fire was already out of control and the home was destroyed.
Fortunately, the crews were able to rescue the family's frightened little dog and he was carried out in the arms of a firefighter.
