FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD) - Fort Worth ISD teachers and staffers now have 500 additional reasons to get vaccinated against COVID-19.
The Board of Trustees approved a plan Tuesday night to pay employees a $500 stipend for getting their COVID-19 vaccines.
"They will upload their completed vaccination card, and then it's into a portal," says Deputy Superintendent Karen Molinar, "and then we have very limited personnel that will verify the employment, and then that information will be extracted from the portal and sent to payroll."
The stipend is taxable, so taxes will be withheld upon payment.
The vote to approve the $5.3 million incentive plan was 6-1, with two trustees abstaining.
