The Fort Worth ISD Board of Trustees on Tuesday named Dr. Karen C. Molinar as the sole finalist to be the district's next superintendent. She has been the interim superintendent since October when previous Superintendent Angelica Ramsey stepped down.
"Dr. Molinar, your five-month interview has been quite a success," School Board Member Anne Darr said. "You have knocked it out of the park."
The vote to name Dr. Molinar as the sole finalist was 9-0.
"I love the excitement that we all have for our new superintendent," School Board Member Wallace Bridges said. "The real work goes on now."
Under Texas law, the school board is required to wait 21 days after naming a finalist or finalists before officially voting to hire someone for the position.
"I am honored to be selected as the lone finalist for Fort Worth ISD superintendent," Molinar said. "Fort Worth ISD is my home and I look forward to working alongside our talented educators and staff to ensure every student receives a high-quality education that prepares them for future success."
