FORT WORTH (1080 KRLD)- It will be a longer day for Pre-Kindergarten students in Fort Worth next year.
Starting this Fall, Pre-K students in Fort Worth will attend school during the same hours as all other elementary school students. They will start at 7:50 in the morning and will be dismissed at 3:20 p.m. For Pre-K students, that is 50 more minutes of learning each day.
District leaders say the change will make it a lot easier on parents with young students as they'll be able to pick up Pre-K and elementary kids at the same time, instead of having to make two trips.
Teachers are expected to use the extra time to help students get more socially and academically ready for kindergarten.
