The Fort Worth ISD school board will meet Tuesday night to discuss the contract of Superintendent Angelica Ramsey.

The board is expected to convene in a closed-door session at 5:30 p.m., followed by a public meeting where they may take action regarding Ramsey’s tenure.

Concerns over district leadership were highlighted last month when Fort Worth Mayor Mattie Parker addressed the board, calling the state of the district “unacceptable.” Parker criticized Fort Worth ISD for what she described as a “leadership vacuum” following a decade of poor and stagnant academic performance.

Earlier this month, the board held a public hearing where dozens of speakers voiced their opinions. While some have criticized Ramsey's leadership, others argue she is being made a scapegoat for broader issues within the district.

"The consequences of this burnout are severe," one parent said. "It leads to high turnover rates, which disrupts student learning and costs our district too much."

"If your plan is to pacify us parents by firing Ramsey, it is not going to work.," another said. "We've got to find a solution."

The outcome of Tuesday's meeting could have significant implications for the future direction of the district.
