A Fort Worth man has died after being shot in Crowley over the weekend and police believe it was an attempted home invasion.
On Saturday night, police were called when a car crashed into a backyard on Wheatfield Lane. Police found that the male driver had been shot and he died at the hospital.
At about the same time, police got a call that someone else had been shot at another house on McDonald Street, about a block away. That male victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
After sorting it all out, police believe the men shot one another during a gunbattle at the McDonald house during an apparent home invasion on the part of the Fort Worth man.
It looks like after being shot he was able to get back in his car and drive off. But he got only about a block away before he crashed.
