A Fort Worth man who killed his grandmother with a baseball bat now has an execution date.
A judge has set May 19, 2021 as the date that 41-year old Quintin Jones is scheduled to die.
In 1999, Jones killed his grandmother, Berthena Bryant, with a baseball bat.
When he was arrested he quickly told police he was responsible for killing two other men, and that he had done it because he was receiving instructions from a voice in his head named "James."
A jury found Jones guilty of Bryant's murder and sentenced him to death.
The cause has been winding through the courts for 19 years. But in March the US Supreme Court declined to hear the appeal.
Jones makes the third murderer from Tarrant County to have an execution date.
