A Fort Worth man is going to prison for life for killing his baby boy more than four years ago.
Court records show Joseph Welborn pleaded guilty to a charge of causing an injury to a child younger than ten-years-old. Welborn's baby named Christian was ten weeks old when he died.
The autopsy showed the infant had two complex skull fractures. Police say Welborn gave them a story that an older child had dropped the baby. Police, prosecutors and doctors quickly proved that was not true.
In asking for a life sentence, prosecutor Katie Owens told the jury "this sweet, innocent little baby deserved better."
