A man is going to prison for life for shooting a man to death who was his neighbor at an east Fort Worth duplex.
In 2020, the victim was fatally shot in the front yard of the duplex near Loop 820 and Berry. Prosecutors told the jury that Edward Murray, who is white, often directed racial slurs toward the black family next door.
They said he fired the deadly shots after becoming enraged that a child's ball was let on the walkway between the duplex units. Murray was convicted Tuesday.
The same jury gave him a life sentence Wednesday.
