A kitten rescued by Fort Worth police and animal control will soon be up for adoption.

The small gray and white cat was stranded on a very busy stretch of I-20 near Trail Lake Drive. The kitten was huddled next to a concrete barrier beside a storm grate and was evidently afraid to move because of the passing traffic.

Several officers worked together to gain the cat's trust and picked him up from the shoulder and took him to the Chuck Silcox Animal Center on Martin Street.

After he's checked out, the shelter plans to put him up for adoption on October 26th.
