With temperatures in the 20s again this week, some people are firing up space heaters and fireplaces to keep warm, and that means the danger of an apartment or house fire.

There have been a lot of house fires reported over the past week or so since this latest Siberian cold front moved into North Texas. For example, Fort Worth Fire has had more than a hundred fire calls since Friday and many of those were structure fires so Fort Worth firefighter Craig Trojacek is saying to be careful.

"We just want to make sure everybody's safe in their home and that we don't have to show up to your home, if we can prevent that," says Trojacek.

He warns of the following possible fire dangers:
- Space heater - keep it a good distance from combustibles like draperies
- Chimneys - get a professional to check yours out
