After 58 years of concerts, conventions and big moments, Fort Worth’s iconic “flying saucer” arena is getting one last party.
The city will host a free, family-friendly farewell event Sunday, Sept. 20, marking the arena’s final event before its next chapter.
The indoor festival, called “It’s Goin’ Down,” will feature a 10,000-square-foot historical exhibit, vendor booths, face painting, photo booths, giveaways and commemorative merchandise.
There will also be concessions and live music from the Emerald City Band and live DJ's.
The arena has been a fixture on Fort Worth’s skyline since 1968, giving generations of residents plenty of memories to look back on — and one last chance to say goodbye.
