Fort Worth (1080 KRLD) - Set construction is well underway in the Fort Worth Stockyards as they prepare to kick off filming for the Paramount+ series Y:1883.
A portion of W Exchange Avenue is undergoing a considerable facelift with storefronts being altered, interiors being redesigned and new buildings emerging.
Y:1883 will act as a prequel to the successful Paramount series Yellowstone, starring Kevin Costner.
"This new show explores different eras of that 130-year legacy. What an opportunity to witness the first Dutton's to come to Montana and we see them when they were homesteading," said Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan earlier this year.
Y:1883 will feature a version of the wild west that Sheridan says is; "a west beyond the reach of the rule of law."
The upcoming shoot in Fort Worth was announced in July, with Film Fort Worth revealing on social media that a search was underway for crew and extras for the series production.
According to esquire, Tim McGraw, Faith Hill, and Sam Elliott will star in the series.
An official release date has not been announced.
