An Arctic blast is set to arrive in North Texas just in time for the Fort Worth Stock Show and Rodeo to kick off on Friday.
Cold temperatures are nothing new for the long-running event, which has historically contended with ice, snow, and sleet. Organizers said they were prepared for the chilly weather.
The annual parade is scheduled for Saturday morning in Downtown Fort Worth. Attendees are advised to bundle up, as temperatures are expected to hover around 42 degrees, with wind chills making it feel like the mid-30s.
Despite the cold, the Stock Show and Rodeo is expected to draw large crowds for its opening weekend, continuing a tradition that has been a staple in the community for decades.
